We support teachers through Mini-Grants. These small grants are given several times a month and help teachers with school supplies. Teachers apply today!

  • Dogwood Elementary: $8,600 Dolphin Sensory Room Upgrade. Provide quick way for students with special needs to receive sensory input allowing a calming way to refocus and ready to participate in academic activities. Room will include stations with lights and interactive boards to engage students.
  • Forest Hill Elementary: $2,745.95 Empowered Forest Hill Elementary’s Innovative Teacher Oasis. Creating a Teacher Learning Center to provide a central hub to address the evolving needs of educators and enhance the learning environment for students. Space will provide for access to a curated collection of resources, idea exchange, and continuous professional development.
  • Forest Hill Elementary: $6,469  Harmony Unleashed: Strumming the Chords of Educational Excellence. Provide two class sets of guitars and one performance guitar providing students with a versatile platform to explore a rich array of musical genres. 40 ¾ guitars and 1 teacher guitar with case.
  • GOAL: $6,000 Grade 6-12 Music Production: Media Arts and Songwriting. Students will have the opportunity to participate in Audio Production workshops and/or Music Production Program through Music Box and while receiving STEM and Music education explore career opportunities
  • GOAL: $2,000 Music Exploration K-5. Students will learn about instruments, voice, and music as a language plus have music participation.
  • Houston High School: $1,900 Math Classroom Technology. IPad Pro, Apple Pencil, Logitech Keyboard Case, and Apple Care to assist in teaching 140 students in AP Calculus, College Algebra and Algebra II classes. The IPad Pro provides a unique flexibility to display on the TV from any location in the room.
  • Houston High School: $10,000 STEM IV Dual Enrollment Capstone Project. STEM IV DE Class designs a project that addresses a community need or solves a real-world problem. Each year the class determines the parameters of the project and we have funded based on previous year expenses. Students in Dual Enrollment classes earn college credit.
  • Houston High School: $4,212.80 Modeling for All. Program will use modeling to help science students visualize hard content to make connections, communicate ideas, and understand scientific mechanisms at work. This grant funds several classroom sets of modeling kits for Chemistry and Biology classes for all levels of students.
  • Houston High School: $3,500 Literary Journalism (Lit Mag) Technology. The Journalism: Literary Journey course, aka Lit Mag, has been an important part of HHS’s English and art world for 25 years. This grant will support its project, the award-winning literary magazine, AVATAR. Grant will support hardware and software for the journalism course and help offset the fundraising necessary for the publication.
  • Houston Middle School: $6946.00 Swinging into Mustang Moves. Swings, all kinds of swings: high-capacity adaptive swing seat, belly swing set, tri-pod swing sets. Continuing to add to a program we funded 2 years ago, supporting adding recess back into the day of middle school students so they have outdoor activity and greater participation with peers.
  • Houston Middle School: $3,400 Showing Love to our Learning Labs, Creating a Space for Everyone. Space for students with special needs to work in that is welcoming and appropriate including chairs and desks that are flexible and adaptive in purpose.
  • Riverdale K-8: $5,500 Funding for SORA, online reading app. SORA is an award-winning digital reading app that empowers students to discover age-appropriate eBooks, audiobooks, and more through their school librarian and library. This program is a cornerstone that enhances reading habits and experiences and this past year was used by 642 of the 1250 students at Riverdale. Program was funded previously through Federal grant.
