1st Annual 5K & Color Run is Community, Family & Fun
With over 2,250 registered runners, the GEF’S first annual 5K & Color Run was a huge success. The beautiful day was filled with over 4000 people, 35 business vendor booths, moon bounces, tons of wonderful food trucks, live music, a ribbon cutting, a 5K and a 1 mile color run!
Riverdale Elementary & Middle helped us prepare for our pre-race activities by having their first GMSD pep rally! RIVERDALE Staff & PTSA knows how to put on a show!

The purpose for these events is to raise funds, awareness and pride for our 5 public schools. The highlight of our race day was the announcement of our STAR Teacher of the Year. We are proud to announce that our friend, Principle Toyota, sponsored a new car for the S.T.A.R. Teacher of the year for a year, Riverdale’s own, Mrs. Tracy Tickle.
Congratulations Mrs. Tickle!
The mantra for the day from everyone was “Community Minded” “Memories with Family” and “Tons of Fun”!
Our amazing community committee member team, school committee member team and Municipal PTA are the reason our race was such a success. From soliciting sponsors to pushing initiative thru the schools, these committee members proved GMSD and Germantown are the right place to live & give.
We wish to thank each and every sponsor, volunteer, registered runner and family member who participated in the wonderful event.
Thank You Sponsors!
